Dr.Mruthyunjaya Graduated from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore with the gold medal for general merit. He excelled in the Masters (UAS, Bangalore) and Doctrol (IARI) programes in Agricultural Economics. He received the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for the best Ph.D Thesis.
He worked as Scientist in IIHR Bangalore and CAZRI Jodhpur and as Professor of Agricultural Economics in IARI, before joining as Assistant Director General in the ICAR.
His contributions in the field of Economics of Risk and Uncertainty in Agriculture are note worthy. He has been offering his yeoman services for the cause of Agricultural and Resource Economics in India.
Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of Minnesota. Over 30 years of experience in teaching, research and development work. Studied Resource Economics focusing on irrigation, forestry, fishery, minerals at the University of Minnesota.
Over 140 research publications / reports covering areas of Economics of Technical change in Agriculture, Forestry, Irrigation etc.
Coordinator for preparing Agro-climatic Regional Planning for 34 districts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu, sponsored by the Planning Commission, Government of India.
